Testissä tarkastellaan, miten pennut sopeutuvat uuteen tilanteeseen ja kohtaavat vieraan ihmisen.
Testin avulla voidaan arvioida mm. millaiset asiat tai millainen toiminta on koiralle palkitsevaa.

Testi toteutettiin pennuille vieraassa, melko pienessä ja virikkeettömässä tilassa,
jonka keskellä testaaja odotti pennun lähestymistä. Pennuilla oli samankaltainen tyyli testitilanteiden alussa.
Ensimmäisellä kerralla ne tutkivat noin kolmasosan alueesta ja tulivat sen jälkeen tutustumaan testaajaan.
Tutustuminen jälkeen pennut tutkivat testaajan kanssa loput alueesta.
Toisella kerralla paikka oli tutumpi ja pennut aloittivat testaajan tervehtimisellä ennen tilan tutkimista.

Pennut olivat hyvin tottuneita ihmisen käsiin ja kosketukseen.
Niiden vireystila ei vaikuttanut syliin rentoutumiseen tai aiheuttanut kosketusherkkyyttä.
Pennut myös leikkivät avoimesti testaajan kanssa. Etsiminen ja jahtaaminen olivat helpoiten käytettäviä palkkioita,
joiden avulla pennut tottuivat vieraaseen tilaan ja ihmiseen.
Etsimisen avulla pennut pystyivät myös jäämään tilaan yksin.

Testin perusteella näyttää, että pennuilla on erinomaiset edellytykset aktiiviseen arkeen ja harrastamiseen.

Kennel O’zone, Å-litter, age 48 days (born August 21st, 2022)

The goal of this puppy test is to observe how puppies habituate to a novel situation and how they meet a new person in it.
This test can also assess what kind of activities are rewarding for observed individuals.

Test was conducted in novel, quite small and simplified environment. Tester as a novel person was sitting in the middle area,
waiting for the puppy to approach him. The first time,
all puppies were similarly interested in a novel person right after they’ve explored one third of the area.
After puppies were shortly familiarized themselves with the tester, they explored the whole area with him.
The second time, puppies approach the tester first and explored the area with him.

All puppies have been carefully habituated and socialized to human hands and touch.
Regardless of whether puppies were aroused after playing of tired after many test phases,
they didn’t show any sensitivity to touch. They played openly with a novel person and best activity
reinforcers (meaning training rewards) seemed to be seeking and chasing.
Seeking could be even used to habituate puppies to separation in a novel environment.

Based on this test, Å-litter puppies have a promising start
and abilities to live a full and active life in human environments.
